Waterfront Newstead Community Hub

Welcome to the

Sky Stage 3 Update

Mirvac has just lodged a Development Application (DA) for the third and final stage of the ‘Sky Precinct’ as part of our $1 billion Waterfront Newstead masterplanned integrated residential community.

The proposed building is located on the corner of Cunningham Street and Skyring Terrace and complements the design of the previous two buildings within the Sky Precinct - Quay and Isle, both under construction. The newest stage proposes 138 one to four-bedroom apartments across 27 levels along with basement car parking, ground floor retail and rooftop amenity totalling 31-levels.

If approved, more than 60 per cent of the final stage will be dedicated to open space, bringing the total area of subtropical parklands delivered across the three stages of the Sky Precinct to over 8,500sqm. The proposed open space also includes a new Civic Square on the corner of Cunningham Street and Skyring Terrace which will welcome people to the precinct and connect the Gasworks shopping centre with Waterfront Park.

The Development Application has now been uploaded to Brisbane City Council's online portal, and can be viewed here

Community Engagement

We welcome community feedback as we progress the planning process for Sky Stage 3 and have commenced local engagement.

We will also be holding community information sessions which will provide an opportunity to view the plans and speak directly to our team about the proposal. More details about these sessions will be released in the coming months.

We encourage anyone who is interested in attending or keeping up to date on progress to register for project updates here.

In the meantime, our team is available to take any questions of comments via phone - 07 3859 5900 or via email - community.information.mirvac.com.

Waterfront Newstead Community Hub

Since 2001, Waterfront, Newstead has set the benchmark for real estate in Brisbane on location, design and lifestyle. It represents an opportunity to create history, developing one of the last, and largest, tracts of land along the city’s magnificent waterfront, reshaping Newstead into one of Brisbane’s most popular precincts.

The Waterfront Newstead story is continually unfolding to create a connected and vibrant community. Waterfront Newstead has been the catalyst for the evolution of Newstead, contributing over $65 million in parklands, roads, cycleways, community facilities and retail to date. It is also home to the first residential buildings by Mirvac - Pier, Park and Unison. The latest fourth and fifth residential stages, Quay Waterfront Newstead and Isle Waterfront Newstead along with build-to-rent project LIV Anura are currently under construction.
